In 2014, the price reduction trend of LED industry was obvious, and Samsung fell by 50%

The battle of LED bulb price reduction is regarded as a key battle in the LED industry this year. According to the latest LED bulb retail price survey conducted by ledinside, the green energy division under trendforce, a global market research institution, the price of LED bulbs that replace 40 watts and 60 watts will be reduced by 21-28% annually. According to the regional markets in January, although the rise and fall were mixed, the mainland market has seen Samsung sacrifice a 50% decline.

This year, led upstream and downstream manufacturers Yiguang, Jingdian, Dongbei, Lunda, etc. actively rushed to lighting, and it is estimated that the lighting revenue ratio fell to 30 ~ 40%, of which Lunda accounted for more than 40%. From the continued decline in LED bulb prices announced by ledinside, the trend of price cutting impulse in 2014 will be more obvious.

According to the statistics of ledinside, the price reduction in the mainland market is the most intense among the regional markets. In January, the price of LED bulbs replacing 60 watts in the mainland dropped by 16.2%. The main reason is the price reduction and promotion of manufacturers, including first-line brands such as Samsung, 10.8 watt bulb lamps and 810lm luminous flux. The price dropped by 50% this month, from $30 to $15.

As for the Japanese market, it bucked the trend. In January, the average price of goods replacing 40 watts rose by about 5.1%, while the price of goods replacing 60 watts rose by 13.6%. The main reason is that after the new year, the prices of some commodities increased significantly. For example, the price of Panasonic 6.9 watt bulb lamp increased from $5.50 in December to more than $9, and the price of sharp 10.4 watt all week light bulb also increased from about $27 to $41.

In addition, ledinside also pointed out that the price of bulb lamps in South Korea has always been relatively stable without obvious fluctuations. The main reason is that the South Korean government has taken control measures to protect small factories. Therefore, LED lighting manufacturers are all small-scale and lack access and cost advantages, which also makes it difficult to realize the rapid decline in prices in this region.
