Environmental protection laws restrict the development of PCB enterprises

According to statistics, 65% of the world's GNP is now related to integrated circuits. With the industrial revolution brought about by smart phones and tablet computers, the demand for PCB products is also rising. Many PCB manufacturers have not stopped their expansion while actively expanding their production capacity, trying to take the lead in the increasingly popular market. According to authoritative forecasts, the growth rate of global PCB output value will reach 7.0% in 2011, reaching US $54.6 billion. By 2015, the global PCB will continue to maintain a steady growth rate of 6.5%, and the overall scale is expected to reach US $69.8 billion.

Although the booming consumer electronics market is beckoning and smiling to PCB production and processing enterprises, under the strong market demand, environmental protection "Yali" is also increasing day by day, and even will hinder the development pace of enterprises. In the interview, a state-controlled circuit board manufacturing enterprise is preparing for listing, and its person in charge disclosed that one of the expansion of listing is the assessment and certification of "environmental protection indicators". Because there are many kinds of wastewater containing heavy metal pollutants and organic wastewater with high concentration in the process of PCB production, how to treat these wastewater will become a major problem faced by enterprises.

At present, the environment, resources and sustainable development of PCB industry have been put to an unprecedented strategic height.

1、 Make PCB manufacturing enterprises "green"

At present, China's mainland has gradually formed PCB industry clusters with the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta as the core areas. Statistics show that there are about 1500 PCB enterprises in Chinese Mainland, of which 52% are located in the Pearl River Delta and 38% in the Yangtze River Delta.

In addition to the "cluster effect" caused by such high-density concentration, the environment has been greatly threatened. Therefore, in recent years, various decrees, including the labor contract law, the new enterprise income tax law, and the cleaner production standards for the electroplating industry, have had a considerable impact on the business environment of PCB manufacturers. Relevant environmental protection laws and regulations indicate that East China and South China will be rejected as long as there are electroplating words in the application for new plant establishment. Those who have set up factories in the local area are faced with the problem of waste water volume. The local government makes double control on waste water discharge and recovery. If the quota has been exhausted, the manufacturers are bound to be reduced or invest in more expensive environmental protection equipment to meet the standards. If the manufacturers who have set up factories want to expand their factories, they can not expand the amount of water, and even require to improve the wastewater circulation rate in a disguised manner, so as to achieve the purpose of requiring the manufacturers to reduce production in a disguised manner. In this way, PCB manufacturers are facing the most difficult part.

Due to the restriction of many environmental protection laws and regulations, various manufacturers are looking for alternative production bases in advance, including those in Southeast Asia and inland China. At present, manufacturers who still have room for plant expansion will generally run out of their quota within nearly a year, so how PCB factories can find room for plant expansion in the constraints of various environmental protection laws and regulations in the future has attracted much attention.

2、 Technological innovation to reduce pressure

The development trend of electronic equipment is multi-function, miniaturization, environmental protection and low cost, which correspondingly requires high density, thinness, environmental protection and low cost of PCB. The traditional PCB process and products are obviously difficult to meet the requirements of the new generation. In order to accelerate the technological innovation and industrial revolution of traditional PCB production, and truly realize energy conservation and emission reduction, even pollution-free production. During the interview, many enterprise technical leaders said that the printing Electronics (digital ink-jet printing) technology will lead the PCB industry to the broad road of "green production". It is reported that at present, some developed countries in the world have invested huge sums of money to research and develop this technology.

Facing the strong and mature PCB market, processing and manufacturing enterprises want to further expand and develop. They not only need to transform from low-end market production to high-end market, and constantly accelerate the pace of upgrading, but also need to continuously develop new technologies in the production process to meet the requirements of environmental protection.
