Taiwan PCB dominates the world Expert: prevent the land from eating the whale

In 2016, the PCB output value of Taiwan businessmen on both sides of the Strait was 565.6 billion yuan, with an annual decline of 1.62%. In the first quarter of 2017, the traditional off-season, the estimated output value decreased by more than 10% in the first quarter, but still can grow annually; At present, the PCB industry in Chinese Mainland is not enough to shake Taiwan's leading position, but it needs to be continuously concerned.

The Taiwan circuit board Association and the industrial economics and trends research center of the Industrial Research Institute jointly held the "PCB and automotive power trends seminar".

In terms of global economy, IMF raised the economic growth forecast of Japan, the United States and Chinese Mainland in 2017. However, due to the downward adjustment of data from emerging market countries and developing countries, the global economic growth forecast for 2017 remained unchanged at 3.4%. Although the trend of interest rate rise in the United States is certain, the adoption of trade protectionism by the new government will expand the competitiveness of American production and export, and guide the trend of the dollar to weaken.

Dongzhongming, an analyst at the Industrial Research Institute, pointed out that in 2016, PC shipments continued to decline by 7%, and there was still no growth momentum in 2017. It is estimated that it will still decline by nearly 1%. The demand for mobile phones dropped unexpectedly in the first quarter of 2016. Although the shipment recovered in the second half of the year, it still could not make up for the gap in the first half of the year. Therefore, the overall mobile phone shipment in 2016 declined slightly by 0.1% compared with that in 2015.

In the PCB industry in Asia, according to the prediction of Industrial Research Institute analyst linsongyao, in 2016, the market share of Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and China was 30.2%, 21.6%, 17.6% and 16.8% respectively. Among them, although the market share of land-based manufacturers is close to that of Taiwan, Japan and South Korea, it is estimated that the growth rate will slow down in the future.

Based on the production place, about 48% of the world's PCBs are produced in Chinese Mainland, which is still the largest PCB production area in the world. It is pointed out that the PCB industry in Chinese Mainland is not enough to shake Taiwan's leading position in the global PCB industry, but the next step of cannibalizing and swallowing is worthy of continuous concern.

Focusing on Taiwan's PCB industry, in the fourth quarter of 2016, the PCB output value of Taiwan businessmen on both sides of the Strait was NT $146.3 billion, with a quarterly increase of 4.4% and an annual increase of 1.8%. The first quarter of 2017 entered the traditional off-season. It is estimated that the quarterly decline of output value will decline by more than 10%, but it should still show a growth trend compared with the same period last year. In 2016, the PCB output value of Taiwan businessmen on both sides of the Strait was 565.6 billion yuan, a decline of 1.62% compared with 2015. The distribution proportion of output value in the first and second half of the year was 46:54, which was different from that in previous years, indicating that the PCB demand in the first half of the year was depressed.

Dongzhongming estimated that in 2017, driven by the consumption growth in the United States and Chinese Mainland, it is estimated that the global electronic products will have a high growth momentum, and the PCB demand will show a relatively clear state. It is conservatively estimated that the PCB output value of Taiwan and Mainland China will grow by 3.2% in 2017.

In terms of discussing the future market development, automotive electronics is the hottest topic in recent years. The cross-border cooperation and concept application prototype of the electronics and automotive industry can be seen in international exhibitions.

Shiyuxian, the manager of the Industrial Research Institute, observed the common points of the major exhibitions, and took ADAS as the call to develop high-frequency related electronic products, which will be applied to vehicle antennas, vehicle to vehicle communication, and the trend of combining automatic driving with networked vehicles.
