The focus of the alliance is to make it easy for car companies to provide cutting-edge technology to drivers.

The open automobile alliance will also work with the national highway traffic safety administration to ensure that users can safely use the relevant systems in their vehicles. Its main goal is to "seamlessly integrate the best features of Android into the car in a safe way."
